In physics a gravitational field is a model used to explain the influence that a mgraphicive body extends into the graphice around itself producing a force on another mgraphicive body. Thus a gravitational field is used to explain gravitational phenomena and is measured in newtons per kilogram (Nkg). In vector calculus and physics a vector field is an graphicignment of a vector to each point in a subset of graphice. A vector field in the plane (for instance) can be visualised as a collection of arrows with a given magnitude and direction each attached to a point in the plane. In my book it says that gravity can be thought of as a force in the form of this vector F (-GMm)(x 2 y 2 z 2)u where u is a unit vector in the direction from the point to the origin.
